Cornerstone Education is one app with two experiences inside it: myEdu for students and families, and EdOps for educators and staff. Which one you get depends on the account your school gave you.
Getting an account
Cornerstone Education accounts are issued by your school or district. There is no sign-up in the app, and there is no way to create an account yourself.
- Parents, guardians and students — your school office creates your account and links it to your student's record.
- School staff — your school or district administrator creates your account and sets your role, which decides what you can see.
If your school does not subscribe to Cornerstone Education, the app will not be useful to you. Please talk to your school office before installing it.
Which experience am I in?
Look at the small line under the greeting at the top of the screen. It reads either myEdu or EdOps, followed by your school's name. You can also tap the round button in the top right corner to open the Account sheet, which names the experience you are currently in.
- myEdu — you are signed in to a student or family account.
- EdOps — you are signed in to a staff account.
I tapped the wrong one
Nothing is broken, and you do not need to start again.
The two cards on the first screen are a preference, not a password. They tell the app which experience you would like; your school decides which ones your account can actually open. If you tap one you do not have access to, the app signs you in and takes you where you can go, with a short note across the top of the screen explaining why:
That is the app working correctly. Tap the × on the note to dismiss it. Nothing is hidden behind a wrong tap, and no information you are not entitled to is ever shown because of one.
Switching experience
Some people have two accounts under one email address — most often a teacher who is also a parent at the same school. That is a staff account and a guardian account, each with its own permissions, both reachable with the same email address.
If your address holds both:
- After you sign in, the app shows Choose Your Experience and asks which one you want. Tick Remember my choice on this device and it will open there next time.
- To move across later, tap the round button in the top right corner and then Continue to myEdu or Continue to EdOps under Switch Experience.
Switching moves this device to your other account. Your access is checked again, and everything the previous experience had loaded is dropped — so your child's screens are never quietly still loaded underneath your staff screens, or the other way round.
I only see one experience and no way to switch. That means your email address holds one account, not two. This is the normal case. If you believe you should have both — for example you teach at the school your child attends — your school office can check what your address is linked to.

myEdu Support
Signing in
Open the app, tap the myEdu card, then enter the email address and password your school office gave you. Tap the eye icon to check what you have typed.
Leave Remember me ticked if this is your own phone — it keeps you signed in for longer so you are not typing a password to check a schedule.
If your email address is used at more than one school, the app asks Which school? and lists them. Pick the one you want; you can sign out and sign back in to reach the other.
Choosing between your children
If you have more than one student at the school, a list of their names appears near the top of the screen. Tap a name to switch. Every screen shows one student at a time, so there is never any doubt whose information you are looking at.
If you only have one student, no list appears — there is nothing to choose between.
Your student's day
The Home tab shows your account balance, how many unread messages you have, and how many forms need your attention.
Schedule
The Schedule tab lists the selected student's classes with the teacher and the room. If a future term has not been published by the school yet, the app says so rather than leaving a gap you cannot explain.
Grades, attendance, forms, payments, transportation and activities
Cornerstone Education is a new app and these are not all in it yet. Where a section has not arrived, the app tells you plainly — it will say "… is not wired yet in this build" rather than showing you an empty screen or an error.
In the meantime, all of these are available on the family web portal, which has the complete set and the same account signs you in:
myeducation.cornerstonetech.online
- Grades and assignments — report cards, assignment scores and teacher comments.
- Attendance — absences and tardies, and submitting an absence note.
- Forms — permission slips, enrolment and re-enrolment forms, and anything returned to you for correction.
- Payments and fees — your balance, fee detail and making a payment. Note that payments are made on the web portal, not in the app.
- Transportation — bus assignment, stop and dismissal arrangements.
- Activities — clubs, athletics and sign-ups.
- Documents — anything the school has shared with you, and uploading what it has asked for.
Each of these is coming to the app. The sections above will be updated as they arrive.
Something looks wrong in my student's information
Contact your school office, not us. Grades, attendance, schedules and student records belong to your school and are entered and corrected by school staff. Cornerstone stores and displays them on the school's behalf; we cannot change them, and we are not permitted to.
If the app is showing something differently from the web portal, that is ours — write to us.
Educators & Staff
EdOps Support
Signing in
Open the app, tap the EdOps card, then enter your school email address and password. These are the same credentials you use at education.cornerstonetech.online.
If you work at more than one school under the same address, the app asks which one.
What you can see is set by your role
EdOps does not have one layout. A nurse and a classroom teacher are both staff and share almost no screens, so the app shows you a list of destinations built from your own permissions — whatever your school gave your role.
The bar at the bottom holds your first four destinations. The rest are behind More. So if you are looking for Gradebook or Attendance and cannot see them in the bar, tap More.
A destination I expected is missing entirely. That means your role does not hold that permission. A classroom teacher does not see Health Office or Counseling, for instance, because those records are not theirs to read. If you need access to something, your school or district administrator changes your role — we cannot grant it, and the system would refuse it even if a menu item appeared.
Your day
Home shows your next class and how many attendance registers are still outstanding, from the same information the desktop product uses.
My Work
My Work is the list of tasks waiting on you. It is the same task list as the desktop — not a second mobile to-do list that disagrees with the first. If it says "Nothing is waiting for you", nothing is.
Classes, students, attendance and gradebook
These are not all in the app yet. Where a destination has not arrived, tapping it says "… is not wired yet in this build" — that is an expected screen, not an error, and not something to report.
Everything is available on the staff web portal in the meantime, and the same account signs you in:
education.cornerstonetech.online
- My Classes — your sections, rosters and seating.
- Attendance — taking and amending a register.
- Gradebook — assignments, scores and posting grades.
- Students — the students your assignments give you access to.
- Plus discipline, health office, counseling, special programs, activities, assessments and communications, each according to your role.
Student access
In EdOps you reach students through your assignments — your sections, your caseload, your health office — not through a general directory. There is no child selector in EdOps, and there never will be: that is how a parent reaches their own children, and it is the wrong way for a staff member to reach a student.
If a student you expect is missing, check your section assignments with your school office first. A roster that is wrong in the app is wrong in the desktop product too, and the office is where it gets fixed.
I can't sign in
Work through these in order.
- Check the email address. Use the address your school has on file. A personal address you have not given the school will not be recognised, and an address with a different spelling — even one extra dot — is a different address as far as the system is concerned.
- Check the password. Tap the eye icon to see what you have typed. Passwords are case-sensitive.
- "No connection." That is your signal, not your account. Move somewhere with better reception and try again.
- Too many attempts. Repeated failed sign-ins from the same network are slowed down deliberately. Wait a few minutes and try once, carefully, rather than repeatedly.
- "Choose a new password before continuing." Your school has flagged your account to require a password change. Sign in at your web portal — myeducation.cornerstonetech.online for families, education.cornerstonetech.online for staff — change your password there, then sign in to the app with the new one.
- Forgotten your password? Your school office resets it. We cannot reset a password for you — the school controls the account, and that is deliberate.
- Still nothing? Try signing in at the web portal above. If the web portal works and the app does not, that is ours — write to us and say so, because that is a genuinely useful thing to tell us.
No access
If you see a screen headed No Cornerstone Education Access, your password was correct and your account is real. It is simply not linked to a student or family record, or to a staff assignment.
This is not an error you can fix from the app, and it is not a failed sign-in. It usually means one of:
- A guardian account has been created but not yet linked to a student.
- A student has moved school or graduated.
- A staff member's assignment has ended, or a new one has not been entered yet.
Your school office can see what your account is linked to and fix it. That is the only place it can be fixed. The screen names your school for exactly this reason.
Account deletion
You can request deletion of your Cornerstone Education login from inside the app, or on our account deletion page.
Deleting your login does not delete your student's school records. Grades, attendance, transcripts and health records belong to your school and are kept under its own retention rules. The account deletion page explains exactly what is and is not removed.
Getting help
For anything about the app itself — a bug, something that looks different from the web portal, a screen that will not load — email support@cornerstonetech.online.
It helps us a great deal if you include:
- Which experience you were in — myEdu or EdOps.
- Which screen you were on.
- What you expected and what happened instead.
- Your school's name, and your iPhone model and iOS version.
Please do not email us your password. We never need it and will never ask for it.
For anything about the information in the app — a grade, an absence, a schedule, a roster, who your account is linked to — contact your school office. Those are the school's records. We hold them on the school's behalf and cannot change them.
Privacy
For what the app collects, what it does not, and how student information is handled, see the Cornerstone Education privacy policy.
